My name is Ryan Muetzel, and I have spent my entire life participating and working in the fields of athletics, personal training, fitness, health, nutrition and dietary supplementation. My athletic career began back in high school where I participated on several nationally ranked football, basketball and track and field teams for sports powerhouse St. Ignatius in Cleveland, OH. While doing this, I was also able to accumulate enough Advanced Placement (AP) credits to begin college at Emory University in Atlanta, GA with junior class status.
My athletic career continued at Emory University where I helped the indoor and outdoor track and field teams win several conference championships during the four years that I competed for them. In the process, I was able to set Top 10 marks in school history in eight different events. I graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University with concentrations in Finance and Information Technology, along with a minor in Philosophy.
After college, I was admitted to the graduate program at the University of Las Vegas, Nevada (UNLV) in order to obtain my Master of Science (MS) degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Motor Learning and Motor Control. During this time, I was certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), two of the most highly regarded and widely recognized national certifications in the fields of strength and conditioning, personal training and sports performance.
For over ten years I have been training individuals as a personal trainer by instructing them on proper form and technique in a variety of strength training and cardiovascular exercises. I also create individualized training and nutrition programs for my clients, as well as recommending nutritional supplements to them to correct any dietary deficiencies. I have also adopted some of the original Yoga teachings into training methodologies for athletes in a wide variety of sports in order to help them improve their performance and avoid injury.
During this time, I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with a very diverse group of people including children, elderly clients and rehabilitation clients. I have also been blessed by being able to train many members and world champions of the National Football League (NFL), National Basketball Association (NBA), Major League Baseball Association (MLB), Professional Golfers’ Association of America (PGA), Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), Professional Tennis (ATP – Association of Tennis Professionals/USPTA – United States Professional Tennis Association/USTA – United States Tennis Association/WTA – Women’s Tennis Association), Olympics, Arena Football League (AFL), Canadian Football League (CFL), National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Bellator MMA and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on my own and as a consultant to elite training facilities such as Perfect Competition/Bommarito Performance Systems, TEST Parisi Football Academy, Athletes Edge and the Evert Tennis Academy.
After all this education and experience, I thought that I knew just about everything there was to know about health, fitness, nutrition and supplementation. However, all that changed on the day I met a mysterious stranger named Atlas who turned my thoughts on these subjects completely upside down. During the initial thirty days of my intense training and education with Atlas (and now several more years), I was able to learn more from Atlas in such a short amount of time then I had previously done throughout my entire life previously.
This website contains some brief glimpses into the information I learned during my journey from the darkness towards the light. Many of the things that I thought I knew about health and fitness turned out to be just mere illusions of the truth. I found out that just because many people in the health industry are doing something a certain way, even successful trainers and elite athletes, this does not necessarily mean that it is correct. The truth is out there, but sometimes you must look deep within yourself, searching long and far, in order to find it.
I hope this website will make the journey a little easier for you so you will be able to avoid many of the mistakes that I made along the way. As you progress, you will be able to see just how important your mind and your thoughts shape your reality, and how making simple changes in your life can have a dramatic effect on your health and overall well-being.
Whether you are a professional athlete, weekend warrior, ex-athlete, housewife or just looking to lose a few pounds, tone up and improve your health and overall life, by taking some of the small steps outlined in this website, you will be well on your way to beginning the true Journey of a Lifetime!
